Look before you leap

This foldout table is a partial replica of a table designed and installed by the artist’s father in her family home in Kolkata, India. This modular piece of furniture, designed to switch between being a surface of work to an image surface—between window and desk—references the skeuomorph of the desktop. This object exists in two states and is periodically be opened and closed throughout an exhibition, opening to reveal a false shelf and closing to become a picture on the wall.
