how to enter an image : a guided mediation

This hour long, interactive lecture performance attempts to bring a contemplative lens into media theoretical ideas of the digital image. The work re-imagines a black box/theatre space as the black box inside the computer - generating pixel based images. The audience is moved in and out of this fiction of the image, as the performer moves around the room, asking them to make observations, pay attention to the cables running electricity across the various media devices at play. The performance ends in a guided mediation, moving into a third, internal state of the image, reconstructing the black box inside the particpants’ imaginations}
